After weeks of having his mental competency to stand trial evaluated, Tucsonan Jared Loughner was declared today to be unable to be tried in the January 8 attempted assassination of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and the subsequent shooting spree which killed six.
According to the accounts of today's hearing, he will now be sent to a federal facility for up to four months in an effort to restore his competency.
