FOLLOWING MONEY IN ARIZONA'S POLITICS: Gary Bauer's GOP Group Runs Ad Vs. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords

As we get closer to November, the independent expenditures on behalf of or against Congressional candidates will continue to increase. Arizona's Politics will check in regularly on the reports that these groups must submit to the Federal Election Commission.

Our previous reports on Independent Expenditures in Arizona's Congressional campaigns were posted earlier today, and on October 13, October 12, October 7, October 4, September 30, and September 28.

Unabashedly* Republican and pro-life group "Campaign For Working Families" filed today that they have spent $71,296.00 for an ad against Democratic incumbent Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (CD8).  The ad is not yet up on their (not-well-updated) website or YouTube channel.

The numbers: $3700 for production, $67,596 for the ad buy.

CWF is Chaired by former Republican presidential candidate Gary Bauer.  He has announced plans to spend up to $2 Million around the country helping Republicans, and said they are targeting Giffords, Reps. Harry Mitchell (CD5) and Ann Kirkpatrick (CD1).

* CWF home page uses tagline "Unapologetically Pro-Family, Pro-Life, and Pro-Growth," and ad featured on home page ends with "VOTE REPUBLICAN".
