BREAKING: Arizona Reps. Gosar, Biggs Vote Against "NATO Support Act" (ARIZONA'S POLITICAL SHORTS)

8:15pm: Rep. Andy Biggs (R-CD5) was one of only THREE Representatives to vote tonight against the "Hack Your State Department Act." It passed 377-3 and heads to the Senate. Sponsor Rep. Ted Lieu says it will strengthen cyber defenses by "tapping ethical hackers to identify vulnerabilities" and paying authorized hackers a reward for their assistance. It is similar to a bill that Biggs vote for in December for DHS, and it was signed into law. No word yet on why Biggs cast his lonely "nay" vote. Text of the bill is below.

7:30pm: The U.S. House of Representatives voted tonight 357-22 to approve the bipartisan "NATO Support Act". Arizona Reps. Paul Gosar (R-CD4) and Andy Biggs (R-CD5) were among the 22 Republicans to vote no. (149 voted "aye".)

Although the text is not yet available on Congress' website, it was introduced last week by 5 Republicans and 5 Democrats on the House Foreign Affairs Committee. According to the sponsors, it "rejects any efforts by the President to withdraw from the alliance and prohibits the use of funds to take any such action.  Moreover, the measure supports NATO member efforts to spend at least two percent of their gross domestic product on defense and promotes robust funding for the European Deterrence Initiative to counter Russian aggression."

No word yet from Reps. Biggs or Gosar about why they voted against it.
