News broke last night that soon-to-be-2nd-term Congressman David Schweikert (R-CD5-to-CD6) was getting booted from the House Financial Services Committee, apparently because the House leadership (Boehner, etc.) were not happy with his lack of support.
This is becoming a badge of honor that Schweikert is wearing proudly, and that may benefit him politically down the road. It certainly did not hurt him in the primary against fellow frosh Ben Quayle, when the same leadership had to be publicly called out by the Club For Growth in order to not play intra-party favorites.
Rep. Schweikert had a lively interview on KTAR (92.3FM) this afternoon (with Karie Dozer and Chuck Powell): hear it here.
