National media organization RealClearPolitics has changed its rating on Arizona's Governor's race from "leans Republican" to "toss up". Although the rating was changed after the Rasmussen Poll was released Labor Day weekend, it was reinforced by a third poll showing Republican State Treasurer Doug Ducey and Democrat Fred DuVal within one percentage point.
The ratings change was made on August 31. The new(est) poll is an online survey, commissioned by the New York Times and CBS News and conducted by YouGov, gives Ducey a 34%-33% lead, although when leaners are added in, the two are tied at 38%. The poll was of "likely voters" and was conducted over an unusually long period (Aug. 18 - Sept. 2) that actually spanned the primary election (before it was certain who the GOP nominee would be). The margin of error is 3%.
