In case it was not clear based upon the amount of attention being paid it from national groups, the Arizona Congressional District 1 contest is now rated as a "pure toss-up" by the Rothenberg Political Report.
Rothenberg added the race between incumbent Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick (D-CD1) and GOP nominee and Arizona State House Speaker Andy Tobin to its list of eight toss-up House seats on Friday. Until now, Kirkpatrick had been placed in the "Toss-Up/Tilt Democrat" category.
The eastern Arizona district joins the southeastern Arizona CD2 (Rep. Ron Barber vs. Martha McSally) on that list of 8. CD9 remains one step from "Safe" for Rep. Kyrsten Sinema (D), as "Democrat Favored". (The other six members of Arizona's House delegation are "Safe".)
Rothenberg changed the ratings in nine House, Senate and Governor races around the country this weekend - eight of those changes moved in the Republicans' direction.
