The National Republican Congressional Committee ("NRCC") unveiled its new ad tonight claiming that incumbent Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick (D-CD1) has too much baggage to be re-elected. This time, the actress portraying the Congresswoman is wearing jeans and boots.
The NRCC's first post-primary ad featured the bottom half of an actress who looked more like Rep. Kyrsten Sinema (D-CD9) than Kirkpatrick, and received some negative attention for its portrayal. Kirkpatrick's campaign released an ad playing on the disconnect and featuring her well-worn cowboy boots.
The NRCC is spending $376,000 per week airing this ad. (Of course, the first bag was free.)
It leads with the oldie-but-not-goodie claim about the 2009 stimulus bill, then adds the votes that ended or prevented government shutdowns (debt limit increases) and Obamacare votes.
