WATCH: Sen. Schumer Praises Sen. McCain, McCain Praises Late Sen. Kennedy; McCain Had To Get (Spanish) Word In Edgewise

Arizona Senator John McCain (R-AZ) and four colleagues held a press release this afternoon to officially kick off their bipartisan immigration reform proposal.  After Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) heaped praise upon McCain (below), McCain turned it around and honored the late Senator Edward Kennedy (D), whom he had worked with on the issue in the past.

Senators Robert Menendez (D-NJ) and Marco Rubio (R-FL) each delivered extensive remarks in Spanish.  After Menendez' remarks, Rubio joked that McCain did not understand what the Democrat had just said about McCain.  Not to be outdone, McCain tried to close the conference in Spanish, talking about the urgency of getting this done this time: "In other words, in Spanish, VAMANOS!

Arizona's other Senator, Jeff Fllake (R-AZ) is part of the group of 8 Senators.  However, he (and two others) were not part of the news conference.
