Arizona Senator Kyrsten Sinema received less contributions from corporate PACs in the 1st quarter of 2022, but built up her warchests to $7.7M cash on hand for the 2024 campaign.
The reports also disclose that the lawmaker spent nearly $10,000/month for a traveling security detail as she continues to deal with disgruntled fellow Democrats.
The bottom line numbers for her main campaign account look like this, with her increasing the bank account balance to just shy of $7M:
Of those receipts, $185,500 are from PACs (mostly corporate).
Sinema's leadership PAC - Getting Stuff Done PAC - brought in another $197,500 in PAC monies. A quick perusal shows a number of pharmaceutical and financial companies kicked in. The PAC contribution total is half of what she brought in in that category for the last quarter of 2021.
Her security detail expenses - paid out of the leadership PAC - totaled $28,656 for January through March. The report (below) also shows trips to Park City, Utah and a $34,500 tab at the Enchantment Resort in Sedona (for event facility rental).
Sinema is likely to face a Democratic primary challenge in 2024, and a difficult general election if she proceeds. Rumors continue to circulate that she either will run as an Independent or make a Presidential bid.

Over the weekend, I got a mailer from a Big Money c4 pac, We Build Arizona, lauding Sinema for her role in getting big money appropriations going.
